Retail jobs grew 18,600 in November

Accounted for 12 percent of nationwide job growth

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Retail industry employment in November increased by 18,600 jobs seasonally adjusted from October, accounting for 12 percent of the 155,000-job increase reported by the Labor Department for the economy overall, the National Retail Federation reported. Year-over-year, retail employment was down by 16,300 jobs unadjusted as a tight labor market made it difficult to fill positions. The retail numbers exclude automobile dealers, gasoline stations and restaurants.

DPA survey shows consumers’ desire for diamonds this holiday season

(NEW YORK) -  A new survey released by the Diamond Producers Association (DPA) and KRC Research found that over 53 million Americans (21%) plan to purchase a diamond between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, with men and Millennials most likely to purchase these authentic symbols of love this holiday season. Of Americans who plan to buy a diamond, more than 20 million plan to buy a diamond engagement ring.
