Assured Partners acquires Southern Jewelry Insurance

(NAPLES, Fla.) - Assured Partners LP has announced the completion of its acquisition of Southern Jewelry Insurance (SJI), a specialized insurance agency devoted to representing retail and wholesale jewelers in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.

Since 1987, SJI has built a reputation for working with jewelers, especially in the areas of claims management and loss prevention. Assured Partners is a $1 billion insurance agency, ranked as the 5th largest in the nation. Assured Partners has represented jewelers for over 50 years, many through the Naples office, formerly known as Dawson Companies.

The merger was attractive to both companies, combining the size and vast market capacity of Assured Partners, and a specialty insurance agency that could strengthen the company’s offerings for southern jewelers. The combined company will represent over 500 jewelers, primarily in the southeastern US, making it one of the largest agencies representing Jewelers Mutual® Insurance Group in the country.

Back office operations of the combined Jewelry Division will be run out of the Atlanta office, formerly Southern Jewelry Insurance. The combined company will market under the new title: AP/Southern Jewelry Insurance. Revised website and marketing offerings have been completed, and the company plans to invest in a media campaign to coincide with the SJTA-Atlanta Jewelry Show in August 2018.

Headquartered in Lake Mary, Florida, Assured Partners, Inc. continues to be one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage firms in the United States with over 200 offices in 30 states and London. The merger will give AP/Southern Jewelry Insurance a larger footprint in the Southeastern United States and the ability to serve the independent jeweler with more products and better pricing. Stark Harbour and staff of Southern Jewelry Insurance, will remain with the company to cater specifically to the needs of independent jewelers.
