Liz Maggio, Reflections in Gold, named 2017 24K Club SEUS Jeweler of the Year

24K JOY(ATLANTA) - Elizabeth Maggio, owner of Venice, FL-based Reflections in Gold, was honored with the prestigious 24 Karat Club Southeastern United States (SEUS) Jeweler of the Year Award. The award was presented at the 24K Club’s 43rd annual Banquet at the Atlanta Country Club on August 12. 24 Karat Club member Sandy Wieman-Morrow introduced Maggio’s grandson, Tony Maggio, who accepted the 2017 Jeweler of the Year award for his grandmother.

“Each year the 24 Karat Club Southeastern United States recognizes one very well deserving retail jeweler with the coveted Jeweler of the Year Award,” said 24 Karat Club SEUS Jeweler of the Year committee chairman and vice president Randy Lindsey. “This award is among the most prestigious awards given by the 24 Karat Club. It is based upon outstanding service to their community, personal as well as civic contributions, and their commitment to the betterment of the jewelry industry. We, the 24 Karat Club are deeply honored to have selected Liz Maggio as our Jeweler of the Year for 2017.”

Elizabeth’s career in jewelry got its start when she began selling jewelry at her home-based hair salon in New York. In 1980 she and her husband moved to Venice, FL and shortly thereafter she opened Reflections in Gold. Under Elizabeth’s leadership the business grew and she and her husband purchased, renovated and moved into a large free-standing location in 2004.

24K ElizabethTony credits his grandmother’s success to her exceptional passion, vision, charisma and her knack for connecting with her clients. In addition to servicing her customers’ jewelry needs for the past 35+ years, Maggio has been very active in her community. She is quick to donate to and volunteer for countless Venice area organizations, including working on the board of directors for the local Women’s Resource Center, YMCA and American Cancer Society. Business accolades include winning 1st place in the Venice Gondolier Sun’s Best of Venice Awards (16 consecutive years), winning the Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Readers Choice Award, being named Business Woman of the Year for Venice in 2014 and Business of the Year by the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce in 1997.

“She is the kindest person I know. Always concerned about others well being. She is a giver,” said Morrow who nominated Maggio for the award. “I can’t say enough about this lady. She inspires me to be better!”
