JSA to honor Jewelers Mutual Executive and Federal Agent at Annual Luncheon

JSA(NEW YORK) – The Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) will host its Annual Luncheon at the Harmonie Club in New York on January 9, and will honor two individuals for outstanding assistance to the safety and security of the jewelry industry.

At the Luncheon JSA will present the 11th Annual Industry Service Award to David J. Sexton, Vice President for Loss Prevention Consulting at Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. Sexton is one of the leading experts in the U.S. on loss prevention for jewelers, and serves on the Boards of JSA, Jewelers Vigilance Canada, and on the Security Systems Council of Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

WJA DIVA Design Competition names 2016 winners

(NEW YORK) - The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) has announced the winners of the 2016 WJA DIVA Design Competition, an annual contest founded in the late 1990s as a way to encourage women from all walks of life to express their creative voices through the medium of precious metals and gemstones. The competition is open to all women, whether or not they are employed in the jewelry industry and whether or not they possess any formal training.

Three shows in one venue aim to Establish New York as destination city for Jewelry Market Week

(NEW YORK) - The antique jewelry and watch event, LUEUR Spring, has announced that it will run concurrently with the JA New York Show and the MJSA Expo trade events at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, March 13-15, 2016. The three co-located events will create a vibrant Jewelry Market Week in New York City.

“Producing the LUEUR Spring event simultaneously with JA New York and MJSA Expo fulfills a need in the marketplace for access to stunning antique jewelry collections by both consumers and retailers,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager. “Our mission is to produce timely and unique events that create an energetic vibe about antique pieces, as well as offer our dealers opportunities to broaden their reach in attracting a larger audience.”

Atlanta Jewelry Show to offer GIA Diamond Grading Lab class during February Show

Atlanta(ATLANTA) - As part of a continued effort to expand educational offerings and opportunities for independent jewelers, the Atlanta Jewelry Show will once again offer a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) lab during their February 2016 Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The GIA Diamond Grading Lab class will be held Tuesday-Saturday, February 23-27. Session hours are 9 am - 5 pm each day. The Atlanta Jewelry Show runs February 27-29, 2016.

The event was held in conjunction with Cultured Pearl Association of America, Platinum Guild International USA and Silver Promotion Service, and was sponsored by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and Synchrony Financial.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Show celebrates 55 years
