JIS Miami October Show reports largest attendance in history


JIS crowd(MIAMI BEACH, Fla.) – On Thursday, October 15, 2015 the jewelry industry descended upon Miami Beach, Florida for opening day of the Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) October jewelry trade show. By the time the show concluded on Sunday evening, JIS reports all prior JIS attendance records were shattered. Attendance reporting presented a 16% increase over the October 2014 event, also making it JIS’s largest year to year attendance increase in the show’s thirty six year history.

GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair & Open House draws 600+ attendees

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - More than 600 job seekers and guests packed GIA’s headquarters in coastal Carlsbad on October 9, where 33 companies were looking to fill hundreds of positions during the Institute’s annual Jewelry Career Fair & Open House. The gem and jewelry industry’s most illustrious recruiting experience drew crowds for hiring opportunities, one-on-one career coaching and three panel discussions with award-winning designers, innovative entrepreneurs and top executives.

Distinct points of view and a broad product range define JA New York Summer 2015

(NEW YORK) - The JA New York Summer show, held July 26 - 28th at the Jacob Javits Center, was host to an astounding breadth of product offerings in a serene and welcoming environment. Architectural or personalized pieces on display in the designer pavilions, richly unique pieces shown in the Turkish pavilion, the breadth of offerings in the expansive Hong Kong pavilion, and all of the prestigious brands in Inner Circle, were just some of the areas attending retailers were buzzing about.

Networking abounds at GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair

(NEW YORK) - On July 27, more than 600 people attended GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair where job seekers had the rare opportunity to meet in-person with representatives from 48 companies during the jewelry industry’s largest recruiting event. A wide range of gem and jewelry companies - including well-known brands such as Cartier, Christie’s, CIRCA Inc., Jewelry Television, Rent the Runway and Tiffany & Co. - looked for ambitious professionals to fill hundreds of positions. The program also featured a panel discussion with industry veterans and one-on-one coaching with 23 successful gem and jewelry professionals. JA New York was a major sponsor of the event.

International Gemological Institute brings IGI D-Show to West India

(JAIPUR, India) – Independent gem certification and appraisal institute, The International Gemological Institute (IGI), hosted the first west India IGI D-Show - a buyer-seller knowledge meet - at Jaipur’s Fairmont Hotel June 13-15. The event enabled more than 938 successful meetings between participating manufacturers and retailers.
